Word of the Week: Chukka (Boot)

A Chukka boot is a style of ankle boot with laces, usually with a plain toe and out of suede or leather uppers. Now popularly known as a ‘desert boot’, the Chukka style first became popular with men in the late 1940s through the 1960s as casual wear, but nowadays Chukkas are also popular among women looking for comfort and style.

Take, for example, the Aerosoles Landlock ankle boot, which provided an updated silhouette for the modern woman. A subtle rubber wedge sole and tapered toe lend this masculine shoe feminine appeal.
