I’ve been on the lookout for chic, wear-anywhere black riding boots. After all, every girl needs a practical-yet-stylish pair of boots to face icy roads and chilly breezes. Riding boots are a must-have staple that my closet was missing. That is, until recently. Christmas came a little early!
You probably know that I’ve partnered with DSW for an huge campaign known as the #DSWShoeHookup. As a participant, I hosted a sweet shoe giveaway (winners to be announced today), and I received a copy of Do You Speak Shoe Lover?, along with a pair of shoes of my choice from DSW. Seeing as I’m lacking a nice pair of black riding boots, I went with the Kelly & Katie ‘Turner’ riding boots. After three days of wearing them I’m totally smitten!
Where do I start with these boots? While generally I prefer footwear with some flair, I love the simplicity of these boots. Plus, they are really lightweight and comfy to boot (pun intended). I have no problem wearing them all day long.
The full side zipper and elastic back panel mean I had no trouble fitting the boots over my somewhat muscular calves. A versatile and casual style, these timeless beauties have been treating me very well over the past few days. I’ve worn them with skinny jeans and a tunic sweater, a sweater dress and tights, and today, slipped over black scuba leggings from Express.
Today I’m also wearing my favorite new royal blue coat by Guess, my purple Coach bag, and a plum-colored wool beret I picked up at TJ Maxx. Despite the dreary weather, I’m feeling pretty chipper this Friday!
I’d recommend the ‘Turner’ riding boots for anyone who wants a versatile boot that will serve well from fall through spring, for years to come.
