What is Nubuck?
Nubuck is a type of supple, lightweight leather that can be used to construct the upper of a shoe. Similar to suede but more rugged, nubuck is some of the most expensive leather you can buy. Popular for its soft, velvety surface and durability, this leather is created from the outer side of a hide, giving it more strength and thickness along with a fine grain.
This type of leather is very vulnerable to damage, and so it must be cleaned and protected with specific tools and products. When all else fails, you can sand it with a rough stone to remove stains. Learn more about how to clean nubuck.
