Word of the Week: Espadrille

An espadrille is a shoe or sandal style that has a woven rope or similar material covering the wedge or sole. Espadrilles come in all heights, from a sky-high heel to a slight raise.

Examples: “Majestic” from Carlos Santana – note the unusual and striking contrast of an earthy espadrille heel and a shimmery upper. Pair these shoes with a casual skirt, and you’ll have heads turning for sure. Offered in an array of colors, these sandals feature 4″ heels.

“Laney” from Paul Smith – This fun and flirty espadrille comes in pretty buttercup and lavender print.

Solevoice covers the espadrille in more detail, featuring the adorable Betsey Johnson Bethany.
